Hi everyone,
check me out – a blog post that isn’t MONTHS after the last one!
We’ve had a few events to go to so that has really fired up my sewjo. Today’s post is about my take on the Folkwear 240 Rosie the Riveter dungarees/overalls….that I may or may not have muslined and purchased fabric for in 2019 for Asheville Frocktails – embarrassing or what! Despite the delay, I’m so glad I finally made these!

Hi everyone,
How you all holding up? Is the crazy over yet?
I’ve had a weird relationship with sewing during this time; fits and starts of creativity. Luckily with one of my “I need to make something” bouts I decided to finally sit down and make the Megan Nielsen Dawn Jeans I cut out in November! (yikes!).
Hello Hello,
If you’ve read any of my previous posts you’ll know I’ve long struggled with bodice fitting. Well, early on in January my sewjo returned with the FIRE and I used that drive to work on those issues, and with some help, I THINK it’s been resolved! Go on, have a read “The One with The Solution”
Happy New Year everyone!!
Yes, I know its already nearly the end of the first month of the new year but shhhhh.
Today’s post is super exciting – for me at least – I MADE MY FIRST JEANS!!
It was my new years resolution for 2018 to add that string to my bow so seems fitting to be writing about it at the beginning of 2019.
Hello hello!
I am pleased to say, the second of my simultaneously sewn projects is done! I finished my Closet Case Carolyn Pyjamas from the most amazing donut and rainbow print flannel, a few weeks ago, just in time for the temperature to turn. Here’s to curling up on in my armchair with a good book, an even better coffee and these bad boys!
I MADE A THING
AND IT FITS!!
Hey everyone, in my last post I was telling you about my fitting woes. Well you’ll be pleased to hear I persevered and finally made something that fits me pretty nicely.
Well hello there my little lovlies,
I hope you’re all having a wonderful day. As I mentioned in my last post, Joe and I recently bought a house so there really hasn’t been any sewing on the cards for me lately. The closest I’m going to get is writing this blog post about a make from just before our trip.
While it was a pretty simple one, I’m so happy about it as it lead me to figure out and hopefully resolve a fit issue I’ve had since starting sewing – hooray!
Haiiiii!
Don’t worry guys, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth – hooray!
For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you probably fairly quickly grasped that I was in fact on holiday. I finally got to go back to the UK and to my beloved Germany for the first time since June 2015, and you guessed it, my souvenirs all took the form of fabric (and chocolate, of course European chocolate!).
Just before we went away we bought a new house (my first house, Joes second, and the most grown up thing I’ve ever done). It needs to be painted and a few other things so unfortunately there won’t be much sewing on the cards for me in the next few weeks at least.
With that in mind I thought I’d share a post on my fabric finds.
Hi lovely readers,
this week I’m writing about my first attempt at a Seamwork Magazine pattern, plus my first ever denim jacket! It was quite a ride, that’s for sure.
