The One with the Bits and Pieces

Happy Autumn guys and girls!

It finally showed up here in Asheville and while I will always try to hold on to those long hot summer days (I was born on the wrong continent for sure) I’m trying my best not to be too sad they’re over. Thinking about my Autumn/Winter sewing projects is helping that.

This post is a bit of a hodgepodge, just a chance for me to tell you all what I’ve been up to and an excuse for me to get things straight in my head if I’m being honest. It’ll be a quick one I promise. Go on, have a read “The One with the Bits and Pieces”

The One With That Fabric #sewbackthen

Hey there folks,

I’m attempting to continue with my #sewbackthen series as there’s not much sewing in my life currently – hopefully that will change shortly – but wanted to stay on the blogging train.

For now,  my tale is of my first try of my third indie pattern company By Hand London. I’d had success with Tilly and the Buttons and Sew Over It so I had no worries about trying a new indie company.

As summer is coming to a close (although Asheville doesn’t seem to have got that memo yet), I thought I’d share my favourite summer dress make with you.

The One with the Robots

Well hello there my little lovlies,

I hope you’re all having a wonderful day. As I mentioned in my last post, Joe and I recently bought a house so there really hasn’t been any sewing on the cards for me lately. The closest I’m going to get is writing this blog post about a make from just before our trip.

While it was a pretty simple one, I’m so happy about it as it lead me to figure out and hopefully resolve a fit issue I’ve had since starting sewing – hooray!

The One with the European Fabric Haul

Haiiiii!

Don’t worry guys, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth – hooray!

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you probably fairly quickly grasped that I was in fact on holiday. I finally got to go back to the UK and to my beloved Germany for the first time since June 2015, and you guessed it, my souvenirs all took the form of fabric (and chocolate, of course European chocolate!).

Just before we went away we bought a new house (my first house, Joes second, and the most grown up thing I’ve ever done). It needs to be painted and a few other things so unfortunately there won’t be much sewing on the cards for me in the next few weeks at least.

With that in mind I thought I’d share a post on my fabric finds.

The One After Me Made May

Guten Tag meine Liebe!

It’s June! How on earth is it June already?

I hope you all had a fun Me Made May, or at least survived it as I’ve seen a few people say over on Insta.

My goal this year was to wear at least three Me Made garments each week of May and document them with a weekly round up photo. I did really well up until the last few days when our town flooding and migraine got in the way.

The One About Me Made May 2018

It’s May which is clearly the best month as it’s spring and I WAS BORN!

That’s right, 10th May was and is a good day for me, not so much for everyone else – ha!

So, yeah, I’ve always kinda liked May but now I have an extra reason to love it even more and that reason is because of sewing and the wonderful Zoe Edwards over at So, Zo, what do you know.
